Emil, you’re a beautiful guy. I’m glad your family is finally settling into a good place.

You were one of my earliest finds on fiction Substack, and through you I’ve discovered a community of incredible artists. It feels like fiction has a fighting chance here, and you’re a critical part of that equation.

Happy birthday in advance! Though I already knew it was coming up, because you’d marked it on your first novel’s word count chart.

Thanks fam, especially the beautiful part, (I'm actually a wookie, size wise and all) And we're finally settling in, but it will take a few more weeks, I'm sure.

It's just good to be back in the saddle over here.

Hah, yeah. I'm a tax day baby. And I'm glad that through me you found an amazing bunch of creators. You're only as good as the company you keep. Every one of these people should be on a best seller list somewhere with a back catalogue, but life is what it is.

The good news is, we get to choose our own adventure.

I appreciate you Zach. You're a good one.

Emil I'm so glad you and the fam are safe in a new home.

It is an absolute pleasure to cross paths with you! I think I found you through ARC.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge and support. Sending my love and blessings to you! Enjoy your new art in your new home!

The fiction community is a better place because of you. This is a fact.

Also, I don't think the world is ready for a mind like yours to have a dedicated workspace like an office. The fact that you output ANYTHING during winter (which I will now refer to as "the circumstance(tm)") let alone GOOD SHIT THAT FUCKING HITS without a dedicated workspace or a working kitchen should frighten those resting on their laurels.

Emil, so so so happy to hear about your turn in fortunes my friend! Happy birthday in advance and thank you for all you do for the ever-lively fiction community here on the stack

Thank you. It is indeed nice to be somewhere you can cook and see and have an own office to plan from. Bwahahah. I don’t do shit for the fiction community that it hasn’t helped me do or it hasn’t done for me as well, so, everyone just keep shining, you crazy…. precious gemstones that aren’t diamonds because I hate De Beers and they run a cartel on shiny rocks and diamonds really have less resale value than most discontinued Lego sets (Ask @Zani D about it)

Thank you. It’s one of my favorite possessions. My cursive. Wait, can I possess an attribute that I’ve developed as a skill— Just not gonna deal with it.

I would say so. You acquired it, it's yours, it can be taken if someone cuts your hands off. Seems to fit the criteria for possession. 😊

This is everything to love about underground lit—raw, hilarious, vulnerable, and deeply rooted in community. You’ve built something real here, Emil. Grateful to witness it, to play my part on the blueprints. Fiction is culture, and this post proves why. Welcome back into the game, you beautiful chaotic rebel.

Emil — you’re one-of-kind. I’m really glad the fam has landed someone safe (and not prone to cave in). Thank you for all the support during the mess of a month-ish it’s been for you all.

Emil, you're the buzzing heartbeat of Substack. Every one of your posts feels like a steroid injection. After reading, I feel like gobbling down all my notebooks and vomiting stories for days. Thank you for the constant inspiration. 🙏

Also, thank you for the reciprocal inspiration because Jesus do you have your shit together, and you’re a kind person (usually I’m told you only get to choose one, having your shit together or being a good person.)

Kind of you to say, but I definitely don't have my shit together. 😅 I'm like a dog running around in the backyard, excited as all hell that we're all here together, but I have no idea where to go from here. Just living in the moment, doing shit until take my last breath.

I’m going to take this compliment, and I’m going to chew it into tiny pieces so that it lives inside of my cells forever, maybe giving me some microplastics, hopefully some forever chemicals, and I’m going to run away as fast as I can before you take it back.
